Most wedding professionals I talk to say some version of the same thing: I don't know what to post.


And honestly? That makes complete sense. You're an expert at what you do — whether that's florals, photography, catering, or coordination — but nobody handed you a content strategy when you started your business. So you post when inspiration strikes, you share a pretty photo, and then you wonder why the inquiries aren't rolling in.


Here's the thing, though. The problem usually isn't that you're not posting enough. It's that you're thinking about content the wrong way.


It's Not About the Visuals


We've all heard it: Instagram is a visual platform. And yes, a beautiful image of a reception setup or a perfectly lit portrait will stop a scroll. But visuals alone don't book clients. Your content has an opportunity to meet them exactly where they are.


What "Value" Actually Means

Value doesn't mean giving everything away for free or turning your Instagram into a textbook. It means creating content that makes your audience feel less confused, less anxious, and more confident about the process — with you as the person who helped them feel that way.


That could look like:

  • Explaining what happens during your first consultation so couples know what to expect

  • Walking through a common misconception about your service or industry

  • Answering the questions you hear over and over in your DMs or at vendor meetings

  • Sharing behind-the-scenes moments that help couples understand the scope of what you actually do

The goal is to educate, offer clarity, and build trust — because trust is what converts a follower into an inquiry.


The Breadcrumb Effect

Here's how it actually works: content that provides value doesn't usually lead to an immediate booking. What it does is build a trail.


It starts with small signals — a like, a save, a follow. Someone finds your content helpful, so they stick around. They come back next week. They share a post with their fiancé. Over time, they start to feel like they know you. And when they're ready to reach out to someone in your category, you're the first person who comes to mind — because you've been showing up for them consistently, giving them something useful every time.


That's when you start to see the bigger metrics move: link taps, DM conversations, inquiry form submissions.


It's not a quick flip. It's a slow build. But it's a sustainable one, and it's far more effective than hoping that a pretty photo will do the heavy lifting.

Start by asking yourself: what does my ideal couple not know that they probably should? What are the most common fears, misconceptions, or questions that come up in every consultation? What do couples always thank you for explaining?
